Anything that is made in a reproducible format is a print; i.e. photocopies, newspapers, photographs, posters and pages from a desktop printer. When making prints is engaged as a creative think-make process, it becomes Printmaking. Powerful creative opportunities: e.g. the multifaceted intermediate steps between the idea and ultimate manifestation; the layering inherent in the printing process; and the capacity to generate multiple images, filial, varied, or modular. Prints offer possibilities for cultural involvement, ability to affect social change, educate cultural transition, and encourage collaborative artistic production; all to further understanding if what is and imagine what could be.
