Placemaking is a nexus for all that makes us human, providing a stable, safe base for our forays into the unknown and our search for meaning. Within each place are three places; a physical place, a cultural place, and a spiritual place; engaged, either knowingly or not, when we first make our mark on the landscape and say “Here!” Doing so initiates collective, perpetual actions that are varying parts dominance and harmony, values that determine how we integrate our built environment with the natural world.
